Special Volunteer Opportunities

  • Want to use your writing skills to help sustain our work? Our fundraising team needs volunteers to look into grants and draft grant applications. Spend 2 to 3 hours per month to help us, and we’ll help you write draft applications to help sustain our funding!

  • Help tell the visual story of our work! We seek someone to volunteer their photography and/or videography skills regularly, at least 3 to 4 times per year capturing photos of volunteers, clients, and events for public use (e.g. newsletter, social media, publicity, fundraising campaigns, etc.) or optionally videorecording food distributions, pantry stocking, or other special events.

  • We seek a CPA to conduct a financial review of our finances.

  • Have interest or expertise in managing donor information? We need a volunteer to help manage our donor database, monitor and analyze donor giving trends, and help us strategize about donor outreach. Commitment is 2-4 hours per week. Experience with or willingness to learn email marketing software such as MailChimp is a must.

  • We rely on a team of volunteers who tally the number of visitors served at our distributions and track other key data points.

This work is essential, not only because it helps us track our efforts and measure our overall community impact, but also because we include this information in our grant applications.

  • Our partner, Plot Against Hunger, is seeking volunteers who would be interested in harvesting produce from a local farm.

The produce will be shared among several food banks, including ours, which is a great way for us to be able to provide more fresh vegetables and fruits to our visitors.

The gleaning opportunities occur on Tuesday mornings. If you are interested and available, please contact us! We'll add you to our list and you'll receive additional information about timing, location, and other details.
