  1. How often does the foodbank distribute food?

Currently, we do Saturday morning distributions once a month-- usually on the 3rd Saturday of the month.

The date of the next distribution is always on our homepage. We also do our best to get the word out in the local community by distributing flyers each month, getting the info in school newsletters, and reminding previous recipients.

  2. Is it free?

Yes. There is no charge for the food we distribute. We are supported by donations and funds raised specifically for the food bank by a team of volunteers.

  3. What kind of food is it?

We give out boxes of food that are a mix of non-perishables (soup, vegetables, beans, rice, pasta etc.), fresh bread and bagels, and fresh produce. Our specific selection of food varies every month based on availability & donations. We give out what we have until we run out so it's best to show up at 10am.

  4. What do I need to get food? Any paperwork, etc.?

You just need to show up at one of our distributions-- the 3rd Saturday of each month at 10am. You don't need to bring any paperwork or qualifying information.

  5. Where is it?

The foodbank is headquartered at the College Park Church of the Nazarene, 9704 Rhode Island Ave, College Park, MD‎. All the planning, pantry storage and Saturday pickups take place here. Check out the directions page to view a map.

  6. Can I get involved and help?

If you would like to make some sort of contribution to the foodbank, we would like to hear from you!
Please drop us a line and let us know how you would like to help.

Ideas include school or community food drives, donating grocery store gift cards, volunteering time/skills, contributions from local businesses, etc.

  7. Do you help with clothing?

We do have free clothing available from time to time. We don't have clothing every month but when we do, it is freely available for those who show up to the food distribution.

  8. I have to work on Saturday and I was wondering if someone could pick up the food for me?

You are more than welcome to have someone else come to the food bank in your place. They can certainly pick up a box on your behalf.
